Jon Ferrey...

Was born in San Francisco.
Raised in Berkeley.
Studied in Los Angeles and Germany.
Lives in Portland.

He is a freelance sports and portrait photographer working for commercial and editorial clients worldwide. Jon was able to fuse his interests of travel and photography while working as a staff photographer with Getty Images for 12 years. His assignments have taken him around the globe; from racing on the streets in Australia to the ski slopes of Whistler, cycling along the Great Wall of China to golf in the forests of Sweden. He spent many years specializing in motorsports in North America, covering the Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500 and hundreds of other races for clients in NASCAR and the IndyCar Series. Jon has covered just about everything from the grand stage of the Olympic Games, the FIFA World Cup and the Super Bowl, to the more serene environments of golf along the Oregon Coast and kayaking the White Salmon River.

Jon's work appears in publications such as Sports Illustrated, ESPN the Magazine, Golf Digest, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, L'Equipe; and Stern. His photos have been used in advertising campaigns for clients such as Nike, adidas, Titelist, Rolex, Motorola, Chevrolet, Dodge, Sprint, NASCAR, 7-Eleven; Toyota, Target, Portland Trail Blazers; Speedo and many more.

He received B.A. in Art History and German from UCLA in 1997.

He lives in Lake Oswego (just outside Portland) with his wife and two children.
